WHAT ACTUALLY DOES HAPPEN TO YOU WHEN YOU DIE?

John Ravilious  2009

This nice neat idea, which says that when you die time will roll on forever, leaving you dead and gone and in your coffin, seems to be about the nastiest idea ever dreamt up by man.

And now from my researches it seems this neat little picture is completely false and wrong.  And this is because time is an AC affair, like the domestic electricity supply, and so it does not go forwards.

And here I think that literally millions of people have had to face death, with this in their minds, which I will call nightmare number one which enters their heads.  And not to put too fine a point on it, absolutely horrifies them.

Okay, so the church and religious bodies all round the world, have tried to sweeten this pill, by inventing heaven and God, and everlasting life.  And here I don’t know, I suppose this sort of works.

But now I want to ask you a question, why?  Why if time does not go forwards, has no one ever worked it out and realised that time is not serial, and does not go forwards.  And here my explanation of this is that we humans are much more sheep-like than we would ever want to admit.  And what we do is latch on to what everybody else is doing, or thinking, or eating, or perhaps even smelling.  In other words in order to prevent change of any kind, we hang in there, and try to keep things as they are.

And this effect seems to be part of our natural selective Darwinian drive, to stay as we are, and not to progress.  Oh I know you are going to tell me society changes all the time.  But I think we are in fact a creature that avoids new ideas like mad, and here I don’t want to explain too much, but where you mass advertise, you can persuade people to accept almost anything, including new ideas.  But this does not alter the fact that we avoid new ideas.

So this is how I see this.  We have this nightmare idea, which we are lumbered with, and no one would ever find it right to challenge this notion.

So now I want to ask the simple question, what exactly does happen to a person when they die?   And here, in saying this, I feel I am treading on a million years of taboo, and religious escape.

So now let’s try and lay the ghost.  So what does happen to you when you die?  So now I want to have a first go at this.  And here I want to look at reality, which I see as a standing structure, that exists out of time, and where all events occur at the same time.

But now we come up against the limitation of the human mind, which cannot fathom this serial time free form of reality.  So I will try and restate this.  I think reality somehow manages to exist in a forwards time free state, that appears to be well outside human comprehension.  But here I hope we will be able now to throw some light on how it operates.

So now I need you to shift your picture of how reality works on to what one might call a multi dimensional it, that simply sits there, and is outside time.  And here the mind can’t cope, but life seems to be all about feeding action into some giant mixing bowl, where things happen.  And the purpose seems to be the action itself.

But now I am in danger of doing what they all do and flogging some sort of death fixing sort of placebo.

So let’s have another go at this problem.  Reality must in fact be a huge structure, that is in effect timeless.  And where we humans have dreamt up this serial time, as the only way our minds could operate, so without this false concept of time, our minds could not work at all.

So we seem to be stuck with a serial time form of continuous existence.  But in the real reality, the thing is not serial.

So I want to end off this oh so cheerful piece of writing by saying that serial time is a necessary fiction that we are stuck with.  But it is only a fiction, and in reality death will not leave you behind and in your coffin, for some sort of horrific eternity.

So let’s now try and define what one might call the death effect.  And here we see humankind, whose mind is constructed to think in a time serial manner, as this is the only way of making it possible for the human brain to operate.

But now the reality we inhabit, is in fact not serial, and somehow manages to be timeless, which puts it outside human comprehension, which then implies that you are timeless too.  And here I mean this, you are a timeless part of a wonder place, where things in a sense, exist eternally, but which, as I say, outside all comprehension.

And so what you are part of, is indeed magic.
